e9 4th Quarter Final

4th Quarter Group Project

The project that I had was called the iCup. The project took about a month to finish. Some challenges that I faced were trying to get everyone to work together and getting the website done on time. I learned how to collaborate well with my team. I also learned more technical skills while creating the website. Some feedback that was given was to reverse more before the presentation and to make sure that everyone was helping out. For the video I decided to edit it down to make it a shorter video. My overall opinion of my work in 4th quarter is pretty good. I definitely could improve on the website design, but I think that everything went pretty well.

How did you use your time?

I have used my time in class working on my projects. for me to stay focused I listen to music, so when i get my work done early I typically go back through and see if I can add anything that would make the project better. My time and project management are overall really well. I would use the extra time to improve my work or go through and see if anything was missing that I needed to get caught up on. Outside of class I would use Adobe Illustrator on my personal laptop to just draw and mess around. I also would use Adobe Photoshop to edit photos I would take on my phone.

Strengths?

Some of my strengths are getting things done quickly and also using my time very well. A way to maximize my strengths could be working more outside of school and also making sure I understand the projects before I get started on them to make sure that they are done right.

Improvement?

Something that I could improve on is being more vocal about my opinions and work on my leadership skills. To help with the leaderships skills, I worked on getting my ideas across to people more frequently and more vocally.

Summary

I loved being able to work with one of my friends, Rachel. I personally wouldn't want to change anything about this quarter. My overall take away from this quarter is that I can be a leader and I can help others when they need help. I also have learned a unique set of skills that will help me later in life. One goal for me personally for next year is to excel in the Engineering program. I had an amazing time in e-Comm and I have made a lot of friends through this program.

4th Quarter Group Project

For the 4th quarter project, my group decided to be named The Brady Mendoza's. Our product was the iCup and the iCup has the ability to refill with any drink you wish to have. Our slogan was quench your thirst.  The process in creating was that our group decided to divide and conquer. So two people went to work on the graphics and they other two people went to work on the animation. We all edited a video and I made the website. I made the 2-D animation as well.

One professional skill I leaned was that if someone in your group won't do something to just step up and do it yourself so the you can get the project turned in on time. I also fathered my knowledge by building the website. I didn't understand how to do it at first but now I do.

Something I would've done differently wouldd be starting on thewebsite earlier and making sure that everyone is cooperative. I would keep the amount of time spent on each rotation the same because it gave the group time to talk and discuss what needed to be done.

The group presentation was a success in my eyes. We had gone last on the second day and we were a little worried that our website wouldn't be done in time. However we pushed through and got everything done. Something I would do differently is making sure that the group has time to meet with there team to figurer out what each person will say in the presentation.

Overall I personally think that this was a fun project. I would include a little bit more direction on building the website. The video's we challenging for a lot of people and a handful of us had to figure it out on our own. This really showed me that if someone isn't doing there part and the deadline is approaching quickly, that you will most likely have to pick up the slack.

My Personality Type

My Personality/ Summary

For this project, I had to take the Myers-Briggs personality test. This test contained sixty four questions. Each question was about little thing that you pre were to do or what you do. Answered could range anywhere from YES, yes, uncertain, no and NO. After taking this test, my personality type was ENTJ. This basically means that I take to leadership easily, have a very analytical way of thinking, and enjoy expanding my knowledge.  Someone famous that shares my personality type is Alexander Hamilton.

Description. Right on or not?

I feel that this describes my personality well. For me I like to think through things and plan what I am going to do in advance. The personality type ENTJ describes someone with a very analytical way of thinking. I prefer to think deeper into problems, therefore allowing me to think more analytically. After taking this test, I realized that many times I choose to look deeper into things and that can cause issues for other people.

Role?

The ENTJ personality type is also very much a leader. For me, I feel that I take to leadership roles easily. In my family, we all have a balance of leadership we need to take so it works out well.

Animation Bouncing Ball 2

Bouncing Ball Animation

The Big Steps?

In this project, I created a ball with a cat face on it in the layers tab and then using the timeline tool, I animated it. To make the ball animated, in each layer you had to move the ball a little bit each time. Then we had to use the selection tool to adjust the sizing as we started doing squash and stretch. After that, I used the timeline tool and put my layers in as frames and then duplicated them. After I duplicated the frames, I deleted unnecessary frames, added fades and timing, then saved the project. This project was relativly similar to the last one, however, we had to make an arch layer for our ball to follow.

What Did You Learn? About Photoshop?

I didn't really learn anything new for this project. The one thing I learned how to use was the paintbrush tool, and that's pretty straight forward.

What Did You Think About It? How It Went?

I think this project was very cool for a second project. At first it was a little tricky trying to use the different tools for them all to work together the way I wanted them to at first.

What Do Would You Do Differently Next Time?

Next time, I would definitly put in more detail into the background and then adjust the squash and strech so it looks cleaner. I would also change the way I ended the animation.

What Do You Want To Learn More Of?

I want to learn more principals of animation and the differnet things you can do in Photoshop. I would also like to learn more tools and differnet programs you can use to make animations.

What Did You Learn? About Photoshop?

I learned how to use Adobe Photoshop for this project. This was my first time using photoshop, so I learned a lot of new skills. Some of the skills I learned were how to create new layers, use the select tool, and how to use the timeline tool.

Squash and Stretch?

One of the principles that we learned was squash and stretch. Squash and stretch is either showing speed or showing impact. To show speed you had to elongate the ball. To show impact, you had to flatten the ball.

Ease-In Ease-Out?

Ease-in and Ease-out was another principle we learned. Ease-in and ease-out shows when the ball has gravity upon it. At first, you have to show a regular sized ball in many layers that are close together. Then, you have to start to elongate the ball and have more space in between.

What Did You Think About It? How It Went?

I think this project was very cool for a first project. At first, it was a little tricky trying to get use to everything in Photoshop, but after that, it was fairly easy.

What Do Would You Do Differently Next Time?

Next time, I would definitely put in more detail into the background and then maybe change the color of the ball.

I want to learn more principals of animation and the different things you can do in Photoshop.

e9 Quater 2 Reflection

My areas of strength in graphic design is sketching. I like to sketch a lot and because of that I have bettered myself. I also feel like my presentations skills are very high. This quarter we worked on presentation skills and we presented our personal logos.

An area I need to improve on is using Adobe Illustrator better. I struggled sometimes to get what I drew in my sketch book into Illustrator. I also think I could improve on talking out more. Another thing I could improve on is expressing my ideas better.

I loved how much we got to sketch and just have fun. I personally love to sketch so I found this really fun. I also loved how we could work together and sketch.

One thing I would change differently is to have a little bit more time to sketch and work with Adobe Illustrator. Several times I had to come in after school and work on my projects. I also had to come in early and work.

Overall I learned that before you do anything in AdobeI Illustrator, you have to sketch it out first. I also learned how to work with Adobe Illustrator.

One goal I would like to set for next semester is to try and understand the program more. I would also like to try and do my best.

e9 Final-Web Design

To start my web design experience, I had to download videos that would show me how to work with Adobe Dreamweaver. I then got a photo of myself of of my phone and put into Photoshop. Then I cropped it down to size. After I had my picture in,  I continued to watch the videos and learn more about what it was that I had to. While watching the videos I would go through and do the work on my project.

This project took pretty long. I am currently still working on this and am using my time wisely to get my work done. It is a bit hard to get all of the videos in in a short amount of time because they are around ten to fifteen minutes long. Overall I think I have used my time wisely.

A challenge I faced was that my computer wouldn't load sometimes. Another challenge I faced was trying to figure out what I was doing in Dreamweaver. I eventually got my computer fixed and started to understand how Dreamweaver works. It was pretty challenging for me personally because I had to switch computers back and forth.

I learned how to create a basic website and I also learned how to work with Dreamweaver. For me, Dreamweaver is pretty confusing. But after a while I started to get used to it. Another thing I learned was how to work with Photoshop. I had never used Photoshop before so it was pretty fun.

My overall opinion on the web design process is that it's okay. I haven't finished my web design project yet, so from what I have done, my final outcome is pretty good. I like the idea of creating your own website but, it is very time consuming. This project was pretty fun to experience.
